Write Shop II

This course begins with creative essay assignments and proceeds to writing 5 paragraph essays. Class instruction includes voice tense with a focus on clarity, conciseness, vocabulary, editing, and stronger paragraphs. The 5-paragraph essay unit includes instruction on improving thesis statements, introduction, body, and closing paragraphs. Specific essays included in the program are opinion, compare/contrast, descriptive, and timed essays. Write Shop II includes class activities, games, and escape rooms to improve writing skills while being fun and challenging! The course is intended for students in 9th-12th grade who have completed Write Shop I. Students who have already completed a strong basic writing program and are well versed in grammar may also consider this option.
