Photography I
Learn to use a digital (DSLR) camera and to make great photos!

Description
This course covers basic concepts and practice of digital photography, including understanding and use of the camera, lenses, and other basic photographic equipment. Students will explore what makes a good photograph, the elements of photography and rules of composition. Students will learn the basic settings and functions of their camera: aperture, ISO, shutter speed and exposure. Please note, the DSLR camera must have adjustable Aperture, ISO and Shutter Speed modes. These are found on a dial on the top of the camera. Students will practice and demonstrate these skills and concepts by taking and critiquing their own photos, completing photography assignments, evaluating their knowledge of vocabulary and technical terms through quizzes and completing a portfolio of their work to be shared with the class.
