Introduction to Art: Basic Principles
This class introduces the basic principles of drawing and painting.

Description
This is part II of the Intro to Art Class. You can take it regardless if you have taken the first semester.
In the Introduction to the Basic Principles of Drawing and Painting class we will study the basic principles of drawing and painting. We will work on new, or review, elements and principles of art and then complete a project incorporating what we have learned. We will work with a variety of mediums, including pencil, charcoal, acrylics and watercolors. Students will be given instruction and some work time in class, but the majority of projects will be completed at home. Projects are planned for every skill level so that even the accomplished artist can participate.
Students will provide their own supplies and will be responsible to bring them to class each week.
Grades are based on willingness to try, class preparation, completed hourly log, class participation, and project completeness, not on level of skill.
1st and 2nd semester classes are different; students can take one or both semesters. Estimated homework time: 2 hours/week
