Creative Cooking II
This class will allow the more experienced cook to take their skills to the next level.

Description
Do you love to cook? Want to learn how to make inventive dishes? Creative cooking may be for you! This class will allow the more experienced cook to take their skills to the next level. Students will be taught challenging cooking techniques, how to combine flavors, and will be encouraged to use their abilities to create culinary adventures. Lesson plans will be geared toward the interests and skills of each class and will include the occasional basket challenge (building a dish based on "mystery" ingredients provided). Students must be willing to work in groups and actively participate in class. Basic cooking knowledge (such as reading a recipe, measuring ingredients, having a solid grasp on kitchen safety, and a basic understanding of how to handle a knife) is necessary for success. Previous experience in Intro to Cooking class is helpful, but not required. Restrictive diets (such as complete elimination of vegetables, sugars, dairy, or wheat products) may not be able to be accommodated as we will be working with a wide range of ingredients. Please make a note on your registration form if you have any specific questions for the teacher. Students will be asked to bring in shelf-stable ingredients at the beginning of each unit. Fresh ingredients will be provided. NOTE: Students can take one or both semesters.
