Join us as we explore our miraculous Creation with Biology! Using Apologia's Exploring Creation with Biology (3rd ed.), this course is a study of life - cell life (including structure and function), the basic chemistry of life, biological classification, bacteria, protists, fungi, Mendelian Genetics, ecology, Creation, invertebrates, plants, reptiles, mammals and MORE! We will experience awe and wonder in God as we explore each module.
This course includes many labs throughout the year including use of the microscope, slide-making for microscopic observation, diffusion, osmosis, cell structure, pond life experiments, and dissections (flowers, earthworm, crayfish, perch). A special project is assigned each semester including an insect or plant collection and a scientific debate paper at least 3 pages in length.
Each module will be covered in 2 weeks. Homework will include reading, on-your-own questions, study guide questions, practice problems, and lab reports or lab worksheets (spread out over two weeks). Tests will also be completed at home. Successful completion of this class will adequately prepare students for college-level biology classes.
