Christ-Centered Academics for Homeschool Families, Kindergarten through Grade 12

KDO Elementary

Our Elementary Program is for students in Kindergarten through 6th Grade and meets every Thursday from 9:30 AM to 2:30 PM. Each week, students dive into fun, hands-on classes where they explore, create, and learn through exciting unit studies that include structured lessons. This is designed to give students a full, engaging day of learning.

Each unit is thoughtfully crafted to blend exploration, creativity, and practical activities, helping students discover various aspects of a subject. Our approach emphasizes experiential learning that inspires curiosity and deeper understanding, with God as the ultimate Author of all knowledge, beauty, and discovery.

Our Approach to Elementary Learning

We believe children learn best when they actively participate in the learning process. KDO Elementary students are invited to explore new ideas, work with their hands, collaborate with their peers, and connect concepts to God’s creation.

A Thursday at KDO might include:

  • Traveling the Oregon Trail or exploring Westward Expansion

  • Recreating the Middle Ages with knights and castles

  • Experiencing the thrill of a Chinese parade

  • Touring the rainforest to discover God’s unique creatures

  • Launching into outer space to study planets and galaxies

  • Taking a whirlwind trip through all 50 states

  • Giving presentations and building projects

  • Playing themed games that reinforce classroom learning

At KDO, students don’t just learn about the world—they learn to see it through the lens of God’s truth.

Faith at the Center

Every class is taught from a biblical worldview. We help students see God’s hand in history, science, creativity, language, and culture. Instructors gently integrate Scripture, growing habits of gratitude, responsibility, kindness, and godly character in every lesson.

Partnership With Parents

We recognize parents as the primary educators. KDO Academy exists to support, not replace, the homeschool experience.

Families can use the Thursday lessons to:

  • Continue learning at home

  • Reinforce concepts

  • Build out their weekly curriculum

  • Explore related topics and projects

Already have your own curriculum style?
That’s perfectly okay.

Sneak Peek Inside The Classroom

Our approach is intentionally active and experiential. Students retain more—and enjoy learning more—when they are engaged physically, creatively, and socially.

Students are encouraged to think deeply, problem-solve, create, explore, and collaborate—all while learning from a biblical worldview.

Every morning our classes open with a devotion and prayer, focusing our attention on the Lord.  The students have lesson time as well as activities and movements to enhance the lesson.  They get to experience recess and lunch time with their friends.  Each day is full of activities and learning to help your student grow.

Great learning, great fun, great friends—every Thursday.
