Welcome to KDO - High School Edition!
On this site (see links above), our policies and guidelines, HS Req'd text list, medical form, and the calendar for the year are listed. Please carefully read the Policies of KDO-HS Edition to be sure you and your student are in agreement.  Each student is expected to act in a respectful manner to the staff and each other. To attend class, the POLICY, MEDICAL, and REGISTRATION forms (listed in menu above) must all be submitted and payment received.

Class Selection: Students may take as many classes as they need (See note about 7th and 8th grade classes above). To hold a class, a minimum number of students are required, and the maximum number varies per class. By the end of July, class schedules are firmly set. During the month of September, your student may add or delete a class if it is a full year class (this does not apply to 1/2 year, one semester classes). After September's trial period, all classes are final. You will be held responsible for the remainder of the class payment should your student drop a class after the trial period.

Tuition, etc.: KDO-HS quarterly payment is due at the beginning of each quarter. Tuition fees: All tuition fees are per the class taken and are listed on the Course Descriptions page along with the number of credits each class carries.

A one-time family cleaning fee of $35 is due now or by September. Families may earn back the cleaning fee in tuition credit by helping in 7 cleaning/lunch room duties. Cash, money order, or checks made payable to KDO Academy are accepted. Payment is due for classes regardless of student attendance. Snow cancellations are the only exception for refund.
Helpers: For cleaning fee reimbursement, please contact Bonnie Leair (on the Contact Page) to sign up for 7 dates to help with clean-up or lunch duties . If you choose not to volunteer for reimbursement, you may sign the opt-out sheet. On your selected days to serve KDO, either for cleaning or lunch duties, check in at the front desk for instructions/cleaning sheet. Each cleaning sheet lists the job and instructions to complete it. The cleaning overseer provides the necessary supplies and any additional job expectations at this check-in. When the job is completed, you must turn in the finished sheet to the cleaning overseer for approval.  When the cleaning job is approved, you will receive the credit for your services.

Lunches: Students must pack a non-refrigerated lunch each week. Once a month, we offer a special lunch opportunity. Pizza can be purchased by the slice. Each week, we also offer a snack cart  filled with "healthier" snacks and drinks.

We are looking forward to working alongside you! Please let us know if you have any questions, comments, or concerns. We welcome hearing from our parents!

Mailboxes: Each week at KDO, blue file folder "mailboxes" are centrally located for each family to communicate with KDO board members, families, and teachers. Each family is assigned a folder. Please be sure to check your folder weekly.Communications from the teachers are placed in your folder or emailed to you. Any communication to the teachers may be placed in their folder or emailed. Please use the board members' folders for anything you need to communicate to us. We want to work with you in an efficient manner. We appreciate any suggestions you may have for the board. We are always looking for ways to improve KDO!

Communication: In addition to "mailboxes", we rely heavily on email communication. Please sign up for our email updates HERE. Please check your email regularly for any updates, announcements and weather related delays. Delays will also be posted on the website.Teachers will be emailing students homework and announcements.
